Security is a critical aspect of IT management for any business and involves 2 aspects:
- Securing the data from unwanted eyes
- Securing data from loss & corruption for the future
Isis has implemented procedures at all levels of the data cycle and has the hardware and software to maintain a secure environment.
This approach allows for the highest degree of protection.
Software and hardware systems for security include:
- commercial grade firewalls,
- fully maintained & securely configured operating systems,
- the latest antivirus software,
- raid disk arrays,
- high speed & large capacity tape drives and
- multi-terabyte disk sink.
Procedures include:
- internal passwords & secure folders to protect and limit access to client data
- a minimum of 2 daily backups
- data snapshots to disk
- daily tape backup of the systems
- two archival backups to tape and disk.
- Tape storage; daily and final archive tapes are stored at a highly secure, accredited (Australian Standard 3636) storage facility.
IT Systems ultimately are only as good as the people who support them.
